ALC is one of the first Centers to start Laparoscopy work in India. Today it is one of the leading centers in Tamil Nadu in Laparoscopy work. This Center is doing active work in the areas of Appendix, Gall Bladder, Hernia Repair and Adhesiolysis. This Center is recognized by the pioneering work of Dr.A.Ramamoorthy .M.S., who is a leading Laparoscopic surgeon in India. It is the first Center to do Laparoscopic umbilical hernia repair in India. The paper on umbilical hernia repair was presented in the National Conference of IAGES which was well received and appreciated by the Laparoscopic Surgeons of India, who gathered at Chennai for the above conference. This Center is also known for its work in IRC (Intra Red Coagulation). IRC is a new non operative treatment for Piles.
